This week we dove into learning about the differences between personal digital identity vs professional digital identity and reflecting on our personal digital identities. My group came to a consensus that LinkedIn is one of the most professional forms of social media our peers are using; however, I do not even have a LinkedIn account as I’m able to use other forms of social media professionally. Furthermore, an area of growth for me this week occurred when I took the UBC privacy and surveillance quiz which I encourage everyone to take as it had tons of very useful information about how to best navigate the web and keep your personal information as safe as it can be. I have linked it down below.
Visitor/Resident Map
As you can see from my visitor/resident map I have a much larger personal digital identity. This is because I have grown up with so social media being very popular and am I just starting my professional career. And of my personal digital identity, most of it is private and doesn’t have anything that I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing publically, thus, I’m not concerned about employers looking at my social media presence and digital identity over the years.
