I really enjoyed breaking out into the breakout rooms to talk about the movie Most Likey to Succeed. My group all agreed that the movie raised some great points about how the post colonial education system is flaud, its old simply put it was designed for a differnet time period. Alought the movie was based on the American school system it is similar to the Canadain school system in many ways. From personal experiance of just graudating high school 2 years ago I able to relate to how the studnets in the math class felt where they would prefer to learn how to do well on the test to get the A, to get into university rather than to acually learn valuable skills that would help later in life. To move on with my point that the education system is designed for a different time period statistcs are showing that it’s not as cut and dry as it used to be: do well and gradute highschool, go to university, get a job. The last step of getting a job is becoming harder and harder, this is because time is ever changing and the jobs needed are every changing as well. Although I am still quite lost when it comes to the idea surrounding the different types of open educational resources and the specific rules that apply to certain types.
