Since surfing was new to me I wanted to find out what beginners should do. I found this pretty cool journal article written by Janna Irons who explains the “surfer code” and how to be a good beginner out on the water. She goes on to explain that there are many different types of boards and how they are meant for different types of waves and surfing styles. I have a 6 foot 8-inch “funboard”, that has a high volume that means how much weight it can hold while still being able to float.
